The mayor urged citizens to stop signs heed traffic rules and avoid reckless driving. The FFA planned a Father Son Banquet and a 1938 conservation program was described as promising. Ballinger and Winters football game to decide second place in the district was anticipated. Salvation Army Christmas appeal and a state theatre contest promoting That Certain Woman with a Miss Davis lookalike on the streets were noted.

The YWA Council of Runnels Association met Monday evening at Southside Baptist Church with the program theme Promises To Keep. Miss Toni Boff, president, opened the meeting and introduced Our Watchword Remember the Missionaries. Jeanette Batchelor presented a talk, a duet by Shirley Tounget and Barbara Holbrook titled Surrender All, and Mrs. W. D. Shores delivered Sharing the News and Everyone Report with Barbara Holbrook giving a special. Attendees included Margie McDonald Grace Isaacs Joyce Routh Barbara Holbrook Shirley Tounger Jeannette Batchelor Jewel O Neal Mrs. Paul Goodwin and others from Ballinger and Winters churches.
