As of November 3 1832 nine thousand nine hundred eighty five bales of cotton were ginned here at an average of thirty dollars per bale. The Bang's Dragons lost 31 to 6 to the Blizzards with Clay Dobbins and Adams earning honors. The Wilmoth Cotton House burned in 1932 with a two thousand five hundred dollar loss. Carl Harkins was manager. Smile Week featured clothing drives by the American Legion Auxiliary and Scouts for the needy, plus material for Buckner's Orphan Home. Farmers donated maize threshing by Green and Roberts. A straw poll predicted Roosevelt Garner victory in the coming election. Prices in 1932 included 10 pounds potatoes for 17 cents, sugar 10 pounds for 47 cents, beef roast 15 cents a pound, and bacon 18 cents. The Hollywood Beauty Shop opened behind Wilkerson's Barber Shop with Miss Myrtle Setser and Miss Katherine Cates as new owners.

Winters News of 1942 Arcadia Events Mark Armistice Week
Twenty years ago on November 6 1942 the American Legion held an Armistice Day program at the Winters school. L E McGraw Winters Chamber president joined the rationing board for trucks. The Ladies Sewing Club staged an entertainment night to buy a school piano. The Civic Garden Club flower show ran that week and pupils bought 585 60 in Stamps and Bonds toward a 2194 95 national total. The Eden Bulldogs beat the Blizzards 21 0 with Doris Adams crowned Queen and escorts Dayton Simpson and Weldon. The Baptist Church packed the house for the event.
