Officers Installed At Diversity Club Meeting
The Diversity Club met May 23 at 3:15 p.m. at the Huffman House for officer installation and the last meeting of the year. Mrs. C. R. Bellis hosted. prior to the session refreshments were served. The club voted to donate 40 to the International Friendship Garden near Brownsville Texas. Mrs. C. R. Kendrick led the installation, assigning colors to each post for the 1968 69 year. Mrs Carl Green left Tuesday for Oklahoma City to undergo eye treatment. Duncan Hensley remains a surgical patient at St John Hospital San Angelo with slight improvement. Residents attended singing at Shepp Community Center Monday night. Visitors at Edwin Voss home included Mr and Mrs Heney Vogler Mrs Ralph Watson and Mrs Lindsey. Mrs Charlie Polk of Stanton visited the Enoc Doggetts Emma Doggett and Mrs Annie Phillips with Granny Sliger. Mrs Holder not improving. Homecoming at Wingate school set for Sunday June 2. Mr A Dooley's mother passed away. Burnel visited Hamilton Tuesday. Mr Dooley formerly Wingate school superintendent now in Christoval. Mr and Mrs Dewitt Bryan and children made a business trip to San Angelo Monday and stayed with Mr and Mrs Charles Bryan. Larry Hensley is at St John Hospital with his mother and father. Flags placed on veterans graves at Wingate Thursday. Cemetery upkeep praised. caretaker L S Morris noted.
