Legislature rushes to finish key TX bills and budgets
Texas lawmakers push toward adjournment with school finance and utilities regulation atop the agenda. A $600 million school aid package and a three member utilities board move through committees as budgets forecast about $600 million in unspent revenues, mostly for schools. The session also voices retirement overhauls, land purchases near Big Bend, court rulings, and new public smoking limits.
