The fish measured 37 inches long with a 17.34 inch girth and joins the un restricted division after Texas Parks and Wildlife approved the catch. The species presence in the Panhandle lake comes from an experimental stocking program. Geothermal And Other Energy Sources Prospects

Geothermal power faces location limits with only Big Geyser in California currently producing steam for electricity and a 1975 target of 600,000 kilowatts. Tar sands in Alberta offer large oil potential but require costly development, while oil shale deposits in Colorado Utah and Wyoming remain largely pilot scale with high costs to reach 55,000 b/d. A Plowshare concept to create underground steam via nuclear detonation is unlikely soon and coal-derived shale oil could yield low-sulfur fuel via processing for Western markets.
