A Crews community meeting filled the gym for a banquet served by local ladies. New officers were elected including Calvin Hoppe as president and Rodney Faubion as vice president. The note announced a coming Crews School reunion for the second Sunday in August and that there will be no community suppers until September.

John Thomas Hipp, 72, died at 3:35 PM in Simmons Hospital Sweetwater after a heart attack suffered while operating a tractor on his Hylton area farm. Funeral services were held in Winters with Rev Kay Corley and Ron Briley officiating. Burial at Shep Cemetery. Survivors include his wife Vivian Armstrong, a daughter, three brothers, four sisters, a sister-in-law, and three grandchildren. Burial and Pallbearers noted.
