Texas Legislature Faces Tight Window For Major Bills
Legislators have less than four months to push hundreds of House and Senate bills to the governor. With about 1,700 House and 1,000 Senate measures introduced, fewer than 100 have reached the governor’s desk as adjournment on May 28 looms. Speaker Price Daniel Jr. says must-pass bills like mass transit reform and public school financing will clear before deadline.
