Weldon Byers a former Winters resident has arrived at Mare Island near San Francisco after two weeks with family. He was stationed at Great Lakes Naval Training Station since May 1966 and joined the Naval Reserve in 1965. Byers trains as a Fire Control Technician in the Missile Systems program and earned honors from the Great Lakes class A and B school. He is now in class C training to operate and repair missile system components aboard ship.
