Winters native Alex R. Orr Jr. is named one of five Managers Achievement Award winners for 1971 by Southwestern Life Insurance. He heads the Dallas City Agency, the company’s largest of about 50 branches, and is a UT electrical engineering graduate who joined Southwestern Life in 1955. His father, the late Alex R. Orr Sr., was a longtime agent. his maternal grandparents were the late Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Nance of Winters.
