Farm Vehicles May Be Exempt From New Rule

Congressman Omar Burleson announced that the Department of Transportation will revise driver qualification rules for farm vehicles. The changes could exempt drivers of farm vehicles under 10 000 pounds from new rules and lower the minimum age to 18, with possible 150 mile radius exemptions for single vehicles and limited exemptions for larger units. Burleson argues state provisions suffice and urges full farm vehicle exemption.
