The Crews Methodist Church welcomes Rev. Robert Sanders as pastor and notes his service at Winters Talpa and Wingate churches. He and his sons visited Mrs. Effie Dietz while the community marks church leadership changes.
A note from C Wessels thanks visitors, for cards and flowers, and expresses special gratitude to brother Alfred for replanting cotton, Charles Weisel and Milton Ehlers for feeding, and others who drove his wife to the hospital visit. God bless you all.
Mr. and Mrs. R. R. Bahlman announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter Catherine Burton Bahlman to Jimmy Mack Dukes of San Angelo. The couple will exchange vows July 31 at the Old Norton Church of Christ. Catherine is a Winters High School senior. Jimmy is a 1965 Wylie High School graduate and has completed the San Angelo School of Evangelism.
Winnie Forest Smith, 76, died at Ballinger Memorial Hospital at 10 05 a m Wednesday after a long illness. Funeral Thursday at Spill Memorial Chapel with Rev Harry Grantz and Rev J C Johnson officiating. Burial in Lakeview Cemetery. Survivors include three daughters and four grandchildren. Pallbearers listed.
U S Department of Agriculture offers government owned feed grain at reduced prices to eligible livestock owners in nine Texas drought counties Briscoe Concho Deaf Smith Falls Limestone Moore McLennan Runnels and Sutton with hay transportation aid through ASCS offices. The program expands relief to 164 Texas counties and is funded by the Presidents disaster fund.
A bridal tea honored Margaret Ellen Stoecker of Bay City on her June 12 marriage to Paul LeRoy McCormack of Houston. In the receiving line were relatives including Mrs. Homer Stoecker and Mrs. Ellen Reid. The tea table featured coral carnations with baby's breath, crystal appointments, and a miniature bride and groom centerpiece. About 43 guests registered.
The guest list includes Mesdames Bill Burns Lawrence Chap mond H M Nichols George Beard R K Russell Homer Hodge Frances Campbell C T Stanley Connie Mac Gibbs and Clifford Hill as hostesses for the social gathering.
Mrs. Billy Joe Colburn thanks friends for cards flowers and kind thoughts during her hospital stay in a brief classified notice.
