Exhibit 10 Show Farm Food Work at Centennial

Dallas May 27 Efforts of Texas farm and ranch families to insure abundant varied high quality food for the family at the end of Texas independence will be shown in a major agricultural exhibit at the Centennial exposition in Dallas. The Texas A and M extension service collects materials from about 765000 Texas farm homes for display. The exhibit includes tomato juice from Jacksonville citrus marmalade from the Rio Grande Valley cured beef and pork from Lubbock canned rhubarb asparagus cherries from Amarillo onions from the Winter Garden region sweet potatoes from deep east Texas and berries from the coast country. Dallas county will supply pickles relishes pears peaches grapes apricots plums and cherries carrots pumpkin and sweet potatoes lima beans English peas greens squash and okra all from central east and west Texas. There will be home canned sausage pork tenderloin chicken mince meat and country cured hams and bacons. The display will show needs of a typical family requiring 2422 square feet of garden vegetables and 4785 square feet of field vegetables from one acre of fruit trees two dairy cows one beef animal two hogs 50 laying hens and feed crops.
