Winners announced for the antique show held during the 85th Jamboree. Notable awards include Buford Owens best of show with a U S flag and multiple prizes across Dolls Jewelry Needlework Toys Pictures and more awarded to numerous individuals.
Community notes list visits and guests across Wingate Graham Pecos and El Paso. Names include Hensleys Green Wheat Smith Allen Shedd Haines Hines and others with travels to California Colorado and Midland. Mrs Teague’s death and Wingate Cemetery burial are noted.

Mrs. Frank Teague 87 of Sonora and former Wingate resident died Sunday morning. Funeral 2 p m Wednesday at Wingate Baptist Church with Rev. Clifton Hancock and Rev. Leonard Plye officiating. Graveside Wingate Cemetery. Winters Funeral Home directed arrangements. Pallbearers named Davis Maxwell Mass Folsom Pritchard King.
A June 24 wedding shower in the Fellowship Hall of Blackwell United Methodist Church celebrated Mrs. Tommy Hipp of San Angelo. Attending relatives included Mrs. Lula Palmer and family from Sweetwater and Dallas, plus Norfolk Virginia native Bob Whiteside family. Additional visitors were Fannie Mae Wilson with Curtis Wilson of Sterling City and grandchildren from Midland Nolan and Sterling City. LeRoy Chew and family joined a Stephenville reunion nearby.

Steve Lynn of Wingate and Kenny Nitsch of Winters are listed on the vice president's honor roll at Texas State Technical Institute Rolling Plains Sweetwater campus for maintaining at least a 3.5 GPA in the livestock and ranch operations program.
