Present were Mesdames Mapes, Gerhardt, Crawford, Abbott, Babston, Croc kett, Lange, McDaniel, Mitchell, and Nichols.
The United Methodist Women of First United Methodist Church Winters will hold their Call to Prayer and Self-Denial at 9 30 a m January 28 in the Church Parlor. The event supports Deaconess and Home Missionary pensions in the United States and funds overseas theological and renal church missions.
The Dale Sewing Club met Tuesday afternoon in Mrs Ralph McWilliams home. Quilting was done and Mrs Oliver Wood joined as a new member. Attendees included Mesdames Mayo, Comp ton, Baldwin, McWilliams, Hambright, Fisher, Traylor, Traylor, Rogers, Whittenberg and Oliver Wood. The next meeting is January 28 at Mrs Clarence Hambright’s home.

Dobbina with help from Mrs. Fred Young, Mrs. Middlebrook, and Mrs. Elmo Mayhew.
The Susie Baker Group of the First United Methodist Church met with Mrs. Traylor presiding. They will gather Saturday January 25 at the church to travel to Ballinger for officers training at 9:90. The program on Salvation featured prayers by Mrs. Rogers and talks by Mrs. Neely Mrs. Wilson and Mrs. Arnold with several members present including Mesdames Drake Marks Anderson and Stanley.
Mrs. Juanita Ruty Taft 63 died at 7 a m Friday in North Runnels Hospital after a brief illness. Funeral at Spill Memorial Chapel with Rev. Bob Lindsey officiating. Burial in Northview Cemetery. Born December 8 1911 in Collin County she lived in Winters since 1982. She owned Juanita is Beauty Shop and was active in First United Methodist Church and Eastern Star. Survivors include a daughter Shirley Fenske six brothers four sisters and three grandsons. Pallbearers listed. Birth announced of son Ben Jac Barker born January 12 weighing 8 pounds 6 ounces.
