The Pentecostal Church of God will begin a revival Sunday night February 16 and continue February 23. Evangelist Robert Sherman of Winters leads the meetings with services at 7 pm nightly. Pastor Jack Davis invites visitors to attend with special singing each evening.
Mary Martha Circle of the First United Methodist WSCS met Tuesday morning at Mrs. W. T. Stanley's home with chairwoman Mrs. H. O. Abbott presiding. Bible study led by Mrs. W. W. Parramore focused on the Book of John. Participants included Mesdames Stanley Neely Dobbins Bowman H. C. Abbott and Thad Traylor. others were Mrs. E. L. Crockett and Mrs. August McWilliams. Coffee juice and cake were served after the closing prayer by Mrs. Thad Traylor.
The Southside Baptist YWA chose Zola Crowley as girl of the year for attendance and church activity. Attendees included Linda and Shirley Allen, Venita Sample, Mrs. Elwood Wade, and Mrs. Roy Rice. a white Bible was presented to the honoree.
Thirteen members of the Mary Sunday School Class of the First Baptist Church gathered Tuesday evening at the home of Mrs. Bill Buchanan with Mrs. Preston Barker as co host. Mrs Billy Ray Chapman gave a devotional on Gods Guidance and the group closed with prayer led by Mrs Doyle Newcomb.
The Royal Ambassadors of Southside Baptist Church met Saturday afternoon after a brief business session. Mike Moore and Lester Robinson led the program Let Your Light So Shine from St. Matthew 5 14, ending with the Lord's Prayer as boys participated. Attendees included Darren Fisher, Troy Norman, Lance Bradford, Mike Moore, Kenny Rees, David Hendrix, Greg Black, Lester Robinson, and Terry Sneed.
Mr. and Mrs. Del Gunn and Mrs. Baxter Wilson of San Antonio were weekend visitors in the home of their mother, Mrs. W. J. Yates.
Mrs. Fred Poe Mrs. Frances Campbell and Mrs. Barney Bryant went to Sonora Friday to attend the funeral of Mrs. R. L. Labenske former Winters resident.
Dr and Mrs C T Rives visited Austin with their son Larry Rives a Texas University senior and with Mrs Marie Hill and Mrs George C Hill who also stayed at the Hill daughter home.
