Mr and Mrs William Patterson celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with family at their Winters home. An ice cream party followed by a Sunday dinner drew children, grandchildren and great grandchildren from several Texas cities. They wed August 1 1915 in San Benito.

Winters Independent School District hires Phil Swenson as girls basketball coach and Plan A special education teacher. A McMurry College 1969 graduate from Avoca, he previously coached and taught in Roscoe. His wife Jill Fannin Swenson, also a McMurry graduate, will teach special education at Old Glory. the couple resides at 110 N West St.

County Bond Chairman E C Grindstaff reported June sales of Series E and H United Savings Bonds in Runnels County totaling 32627 with half year 1975 sales reaching 120,960,714 toward a 234.3 million goal. Texas monthly sales were 19368,773 and the year to date total 120,960,714 with 52 percent of goal. Winters Blizzard Football Opens Two-A-Day Practice
Winters High School Blizzard football plans two-a-day workouts Monday and Tuesday, then switch to once daily on Wednesday the first day of school. Eight days of unpadded practice follow UIL rules before pads and contact start Friday August 15.

Improvements At Winters ISD Prep 1975-76 School Year
Winters Independent School District expanded and modernized facilities for the 1975 76 term. The cafeteria was remodeled the Elementary School repainted and several High and Elementary rooms paneled Two 1700 square foot frame buildings were added from Goodfellow AFB to ease crowding one to be a dressing room for the football team and the other a diagnostic learning center for Special Education. Grounds and areas were prepared for the opening next week under Cecil Sudduth.
