Easter community gathering ends with election and birthdays

An Easter themed community gathering Saturday included a supper and an election led by president Chester Wilkerson. Marvin Gerhart was elected president, Chester McBeth vice president, Mrs. Walter Jacob secretary, Ames Allen Bishop treasurer, and Mrs. Raymond Kurtz reporter. A correction notes Walter Pappe was honored with a 77th birthday supper at the Faubions.

Wind erosion damages thousands of Texas acres amid drought

Former Winters Resident Crownover Dies in Corpus Christi

Mrs. Crownover born February 18 1901 in Abilene died Tuesday March 30 in Corpus Christi. Funeral held Thursday at Elliott's Chapel of Memories Abilene with burial in Elmwood Cemetery. She lived in Winters earlier and taught at First Baptist Church. Survivors include husband Allen Crownover daughter Norma Dorsett son Allen Jr mother Mrs G C Osborne and three sisters.

Wingate Sew and Sew Club Meeting
