Train Robbery Near Texarkana by Six Masked Men
Six masked robbers derailed express train No. 1 of the St. Louis Arkansas and Texas line near Haywood Switch two miles south of Texarkana at 12 30 p m. They robbed the express car taking about $10 000. Messenger Neolin lost an ear while bound and shot by the band after resisting. Passengers were held at gunpoint and rescued later. Possees hunted the robbers with leader suspected as Rube Burrows.

Dickinson June 11 Sheriff Hayes captured one of the New Salem train robbers on Grand river eighty miles south of here and arrived with the prisoner. The robber’s horse was injured and forced a camp stop. He identified himself as Charles E. Bailey and said five men were involved. Three went south after the robbery. two went east on the robbed train. The prisoner is jailed here unable to escape.
