The Fourth Army Corps begins moving from Mobile with the Second Cavalry, Third and Twentieth Infantry forming the first detachments to board transports. The Webster Manufacturing company at West Superior Wisconsin was totally destroyed by a morning fire after a lightning strike. The building, at the south end, burned before fire crews arrived. the plant had operated at full capacity for six months and employed about 200 men. Loss is estimated around $200,000.
