Middlebury Disparities Over Addison House Disturbance
Middlebury license commissioners investigated reports of drunkenness at the Addison House on Saturday night April 4. They found the event exaggerated, noting a group of young men were refused liquor, left the room after being asked, and the bar closed around 8:15 to 9:00 with the proprietor confirming closure until Monday. The Burlington News distances itself from the hue and cry, stating licenses and police actions followed, with 18 warrants issued and 3 arrests made, as a broader effort to curb disturbances and uphold order.
