A Windfall shopping center plan moves forward with 43 local families funding and supporting the effort. Union State Bank hosts a meeting with Small Business Administration rep Eugene E. Clayton to discuss tentative plans for building in the heart of Windfall. In football news, Tri-Central High School, undefeated, crushed Sheridan 49 to 6 as 700 to 800 fans traveled to cheer the Trojans on.
Town officials appointed Richard L. Stout, 22, of Sharpsville, to replace Steeve Couprider as a probationary deputy marshal. The move follows a series of community events listed in the calendar, including meetings of the American Legion and local school board.
Northern Community School Board approved substitute teaching applications for James Calloway Jr Nancy Miller and Mrs. Raymond McCarkle. Dine Bishir was appointed to coach the fifth and sixth grade basketball team. The board approved 93 claims totaling 53373219 including 9140.98 to NYP Cab Furniture and 3908.21 to Sears Roebuck for shelving cabinets and chairs. Construction progress at Tri Central shows 90 percent cabinetry installed. kitchen may open November 2 auditorium should finish November 18 and gym completion awaits sanding coating doors hanging bleachers. Future meetings set for November 9 in the Tri Central High School library.
Tickets for Tri Central High School basketball games are on sale at the high school office from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. through the first home game on November 4. Adult tickets are 510 and student tickets 7. Ten home games this season with no seats reserved. door sales for individual games are 125.
October 26 born twins at Tipton County Hospital Kokomo welcomed Anthony Dewain and Leighan Marie Glassburn to the Glassburn family. Grandmother Anna Absher, mother to Buddy Glassburn, celebrated her 29th and 30th grandchildren. Anthony weighed eight pounds two ounces and measured 22 inches. Leighan Marie weighed seven pounds and 0 ounces and measured 20 inches. The parents are Mr and Mrs Buddy Glassburn. the couple also has a 14 month old son Eddie.
