Remembering Windfall’s old dirt road and labor to pave it
Windfall memories recount 1902 04 effort to grade and gravel the road west of town. Locals George Hamilton Jatin Shaw and others hauled gravel by hand from pits, laboring for days and earning three dollars a day. The project laid a bed for future blacktop, evolving with machinery and trucks. Reflections highlight the hard work of earlier generations and local church schedules.
