Death of Frederick Hottle A Kernstown miller
Frederick Hottle aged 75 long respected Kernstown resident died at his home between 7 and 8 am yesterday after a period of illness. A miller by trade he conducted several mills in the region and is survived by his wife and children Sarah Lynn Macedonia Lizzie Ruby Mt Jackson Laura Stone Altoona Pa Fred Hottle Pittsburg Pa and Wm Re Hottle near this city. His remains were taken to Mt Jackson for interment by noon train today.

Death of A Holmes Noakes at Bayview asylum Baltimore
Intelligence reached Mrs Hetty Noakes this morning that her husband A Holmes Noakes aged about 39 has died the previous evening at Bayview asylum Baltimore where he was admitted for medical treatment. He was a skilled millwright and carpenter and a member of the Friendship Fire Company. The remains are expected here this evening.

Gospel services held at jail by W C T U and Market street Church
The regular monthly Gospel services were held at the jail yesterday afternoon at 4 o'clock. The meeting was in charge of the W C T U with assistance from gentlemen from Market street Church. Prisoners listened attentively and were moved by prayer praise and short addresses taken from sermons of Francis Ridley Havergal read by a Union member.

Winchester Party Heads to Strasburg for Four Day Baseball Trip
Under Assistant Manager Williams a group of Winchester players led by Steele, Kern, Shiner, Snyder, Calvert and Calvert depart at noon for a four day Valley tour. The first league game against Strasburg is set for this afternoon at Strasburg with Steele to start, and Washington battery expected to join. Captain Stone is praised as trainer and the team is optimistic about swift steady play despite facing new grounds.

Interesting Children's Day exercises were held last night at the United Brethren church. Fine Cattle Sale In Gainesboro To Wardensville Buyer
Mr H P Whitacre of Gainesboro sold ten beeves to Mr J R Miley of Wardensville this morning. Cattle were weighed in city scales with six over and four under, averaging about 1 056 pounds each. Miley also bought 22 head weighing 30 315 pounds.
