Death of Homer Streit at age sixteen
Homer Streit, sixteen, son of George L Streit, died at his father's residence two miles north of town at 7 15 this morning. Death came from complications of diseases aggravated by a fall about a year and a half ago, with severe suffering. Funeral from the house at 1 pm tomorrow, burial in the Old Stone Church graveyard at White.

Cow badly horned in pasture drive dispute
A fine mildh cow owned by William R. Willis was badly horned by George Forney's cow during an evening drive from pasture. The wound was large and the blood streamed from the animal until Dr. Cameron stopped the bleeding.

At a regular meeting the Martinsburg Fire Department voted to attend the Winchester convention July 7 and 8 and enter the world open hose race for 250 dollars. They approved train rates, bought drum corps suits, added six new fires to the corps, and scheduled Friday drills. Chemical Fire Co of Hagerstown reported coordinating the Winchester trip, with engine and parade plans. Hope Steam Fire Engine Co of Harrisburg agreed to attend the July convention.

Fishermen Return After Successful Hunting and Fishing Trip
