The wedding of Miss Lula Jenkins daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jenkins to Mr. James William Striker took place last evening at eight on south Braddock street. Rev. S K Cox performed the ceremony with immediate relatives and a few friends present. The bride wore blue with matching trimmings and the groom wore black. A reception followed hosted by the bride's parents with music and congratulations. Striker is son of James Vance Striker and leads the Capt. George W. Kurtz undertaking department. The bride's father is a cigar manufacturer and tobacco merchant. Many friends joined the celebration and extended best wishes for a happy marriage.

Fire Threat Averted as Lamp Explodes in Parlor
Last evening Mr J Frank Aay noticed a lamp in the parlor of Mr Peardon on South Main opposite the Presbyterian Church burning high with smoke. Mr Eddy and officer McCartney tried to extinguish it but failed. Eddy removed the lamp to the street where it exploded. The room suffered smoke and fire damage.

Death of Mrs Anderson at Pall Mall Street Home
Mrs Edmonia Anderson died at her Pall Mall Street home at 11 last night after bronchitis developed into consumption. She was the daughter of Edw Williams formerly of Stephens City and leaves a sister Mrs Lemuel Miller of Middletown, two young children and an adopted child. The funeral will be held from the house tomorrow morning at 11.

Miss Marie Dinkle Slips at Local Factory Slip
Miss Marie Dinkle slipped on the pavement in front of the Lewis Jones Knitting Factory this morning and was helped home at No 14 North Kent Street by Mr George Hardy. Dr Wmi A Bell treated her and found a severe hip muscle strain with no broken bones. Earlier she slipped at the post office and was assisted home by Star employees.

Right Hand Injured In Self Inflicted Incident
Edward Sartelle injured his right hand while breaking a board that had a long wire nail at one end. The board snapped as he struck it, the nail penetrated the hand, causing swelling. He sought medical care promptly and the wound shows signs of improving.
