A parade of residents and guests fills the town as several people arrive from Buford, Berryville, Washington and Berkeley. Drummers sell summer goods while repairs and social visits continue around the county with weddings, funerals, and family travel noted.
Capt Walter E Frankland postmaster of Stephens City died at his residence after a lingering illness aged about 60. He served in the Civil War under Col Mosby as a member of Co F 43d battalion. He leaves a widow and six children. The funeral is set for tomorrow with Gen Turner Ashby Camp local members attending.
The Epworth League of Market Street M E Church met last night with strong attendance. A short program followed business including a solo by Mrs L J Barr a recitation by Miss Nannie Leafe and a reading by Miss Lou Garton. The league and its Junior League are growing as valuable church auxiliaries.
Ladies of the Union Steam Fire Company met at the Reuss Engine House to finalize plans for the Anniversary Bazaar and Oyster Supper scheduled for next week. About fifty ladies attended and projected a grand event with another planning meeting set for Saturday at 7 30 PM to arrange tables and details.
Mrs Maggie Keating died yesterday afternoon at her home in Harrisburg Pa. She was a daughter of Mrs Julia Dunn of this city and sister of Mrs M Doran and Mr Patrick Dunn both of this city. She leaves a husband and four children. Interment is set for 11 o clock tomorrow morning at Martinsburg.
Yesterday at Snapp's foundry a ten pound sledge hammer slipped and struck Mr Edward Snapp's foot. The resulting injury caused him severe pain and left him barely able to walk the following day.

The third annual celebration of Char Broadway Rouss’s birthday hosted by the Union Fire Company at Court a Hall on a February Thursday night. Invocations by Rev. Nelson P. Da Chaplain with music by the orchestra and club. Captain George H. Kinzel delivers introductory remarks. Performances include a vocal quartette Welcome, address by Mayor J. J. Williams, cornet band music, poems by Miss Kate McViea read by Rev. P. Hyde, D. D. instrumental quartette mandolin and guitar, vocal solo with orchestral accompaniment, memorial by ex-Gov. W. M. Holliday read by J. E. Kiger, Winchester orchestral citocal quartette Good Night, and benediction by Rev. Nelson P. Dame chaplain, with band music to close.
Last night Mora starred in Rhody a four act comedy drama at Court House Hall drawing a large audience. The play received strong applause and Mora with her company displayed notable performance. Arrangements are made to continue Friday and Saturday with a matinee. Tonight the world famous play The Danites will be presented.
Heavy rains last Saturday caused the Thatcher dam to burst near the river mouth, washing away Rainbow Mountain Trout. The owner plans immediate repairs and restocking once permitted.
