The city learned of the quiet marriage of Edw Blair Sheetz and Miss Lillie Evans in Baltimore at Frankland Square Presbyterian Church at 3:30 PM officiated by Rev Wood. Miss Evans is daughter of the late Henry Evans. Mr Sheetz, son of the late EB Sheetz, works as traveling representative for Rouse Hempstone & Co. They plan to return to Winchester around January 15 to make their home there.

Entombed Alive at Berry Farm Well Collapse
Yesterday morning Edward Roberson, a colored worker, was lowered into a well on Mrs. Jack Powers’s farm near Berry. The wall began to cave as Roberson descended and he warned the windlass operator, then the ground sank trapping him about 60 feet beneath the surface under tons of rock and earth. Rescue efforts continued this afternoon with a large team hoping for a miracle amid limited chances of survival.
