Winchester Aerie No 824 of the Fraternal Order of Eagles held a memorial service in the auditorium with an address by Hon. Charles T. Bland of Portsmouth. Music by the Javier Orchestra accompanied prayers and readings honoring departed members and Horace Blueford. The audience included a large Eagles presence and the event reflected the general eagle memorial observance across the country.

An Old Member of Dunkard Church Dies Near Harrisonburg
Mrs. Sarah Fadeley wife of William Fadeley died shortly after 5 pm Saturday at her home four miles southeast of Harrisonburg after a brief paralysis. Born January 3 1836 in Shenandoah County she was in her 70th year and had lived in Rockingham County 23 years. She was a German Baptist Church member and survived by her husband two sons and a daughter.

The first Sunday excursion of the season from Winchester to Washington and Baltimore on the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad carried 123 passengers who spent the day in the Capital or Monumental City.
