U S Deputy Marshal John Rogers arrived in Staunton and issued warrants for Roy Robinson Edward Shull Luther C Kremer and Maynard Mc Cauley convicted in corporation court for illegal liquor sale. Handley Fund elects Librarian Vernon Eddy for 1200 yearly
The Handley Fund board elected Vernon Eddy as librarian after reviewing about nine applicants. Eddy, a Winchester native with printing and advertising background in Philadelphia, will be paid 1200 dollars annually. Friendship Fire Company wins prize at Maryland parade
In Hagerstown the Friendship Fire Company of Winchester won the best equipped company prize amid a large parade of about 30 companies in the Maryland Firemen's Association event. The prize was 75 dollars. The Friendship team had 63 uniformed men in line and impressed with handsome horses and a shore wagon.
