A telegram informs that humorist Sunshine Hawkes, slated for February 20 at the Star Course, is critically ill in Battle Creek Michigan and will cancel the engagement. The final attraction remains the DeKuen Male Quartet at the Auditorium on March 6 at 6 p.m.
Public sale on C H Light farm on Thursday February 20 featuring horses cattle sheep farming implements cows and poultry. Miss Kate McVicar visiting Martinsburg from Weston West Virginia and staying with Mrs Jenkins. Judge W M Atkinson and W M Atkinson Jr traveled to Baltimore this morning.
Arrangements set for a large county gathering at 2 pm with a United States flag raised over the school building. The event will be led by W. D. Dehaven and feature speeches by Rev. J. W. H. Beale City Solicitor R. Gray Williams School Superintendent M. M. Lynch and R. L. Omps along with pupil performances under Leota Elliott. Cross Junction Bands provide music.
Mrs. C. J. Faulkner will entertain a party at the Martinsburg skating rink this evening from 8 to 9 30 serving supper at Mrs. Faulkner’s home after. Guests include Mr and Mrs H H Emmett Mr and Mrs Stephen R Snodgrass Mrs W H Crawford Mrs Robert Boyd Mrs J W McSherry and Messrs R L Snodgrass Attorney Williams of this city and Messrs Fred Glaize and Ht F Byrd of Winchester.
