Edwin Bell veteran editor and lawyer of Hagerstown Md died at his home after a brief illness. He was a renowned Maryland figure, uncle of Misses Motter and Holliday, and burial took place at Rose Hill Cemetery. Funeral held at 2 pm with large attendance.

Severe Stroke Strikes Winchester Resident at Home
Mr. Mortimer Haymaker, a longtime Winchester resident living with his sister Mrs. Cliftom Merrells at 701 South Braddock Street, suffered a severe stroke while reading The Star and lies in serious condition. His half sister Mrs. Picard H. Diffenderfer, also of South Braddock Street, was ill with acute indigestion yesterday but improved today after medical attention.

Winchester resident Totty injured in library construction fall
Samuel Totty, a well known Winchester resident and Mankin Construction Co. employee, fell while helping move a lime barrel at the Handley Memorial Library site. He struck his face and chest on loose stones, was rendered unconscious, but doctors report no broken bones or internal injuries and say he should recover, possibly leaving Memorial Hospital later in the week.

In Martinsburg West Virginia two victims from the Baltimore and Ohio railroad wreck at Shenandoah Junction remain in King's Daughters hospital. Joseph C Duke of Washington and Antonia Restiga of Frostburg are rapidly recovering and expect discharge in a few days. George Keyser, injured at Cherry Run last week with feet amputated, is progressing satisfactorily.

American hounds hunt near Leesburg in lively field trial
The American Hounds of the Lou doun Hunt Club hunted yesterday at Luckett's near Leesburg. A long exciting chase followed the Potomac river course with spectators watching. Finishing guests included Wesmmoreland Davis and Mrs Davis, Clarence Moore and Mrs Moore, and several others.
