The new Methodist Episcopal Church South at Shenandoah Junction West Virginia in Winchester district will be dedicated on Sunday August 25 with six services. The day includes a 9 am Sunday school address by Rev. Dr George W Tyler a 10 am experience meeting led by Dr T A Jones a 11 am dedicatory sermon by Rev J Howard Wells a 2 30 pm Sunday school work address by Hon M L Walton an Epworth League rally at 7 pm and a farewell sermon at 8 pm. The church was built mainly through the efforts of Rev Mr Jones.

Pull Dog Held on Till Fire Burned Him
A post office dog skirmish between a pointer and a thoroughbred English bulldog drew a crowd on a Saturday night. The bulldog bit the pointer by the neck and refused to let go until a match was applied to the bulldog’s nose, forcing the release. The pointer was frightened and hurt little, while the bulldog remained uninjured.

Reports of a direct link between the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad and the Cumberland Valley Railroad were false. Cumberland Valley is adding a siding near the Winchester fair grounds and a large shed to aid apple shippers from the north and northwest, with completion expected this week.

Mrs Jemimah Clowser widow of Jacob H. Clowser died at her home near Hayfield after a lingering paralysis illness at 6 Sunday evening. She was 65. Funeral was held at Mount Olive at 4 this afternoon conducted by Rev. C J Racey. She leaves three daughters Mortimer Carper and Albert Nail of this county and Miss Jennie Clowser of Hagerstown Maryland two brothers Madison Clowser of Mount Williams and William H Clowser of Colorado and two sisters Mrs C D Summers of Cleveland Ohio and Mrs John Summers of Winchester.
