Winchester reported its first fire alarm in three months at 1 10 this morning. Firemen rushed to the scene but found a false alarm after a fruitless search. Officials say the alarm was deliberately turned in and police have several clues. arrests may follow.

Winchester Horse Show Postponed By Rain With Large Attendance
Yesterday and today the Winchester horse events attracted about 800 spectators including many horsemen. A heavy track yesterday gave way to better conditions today and a larger crowd. the Friendship Band performed both days. Classes included light weight hunters and road tandem, with entries from Berry's Millwood Hagerstown and Upperville among others.

Two Story House Collapses For Second Time
A two story stone house at 808 South BradDock Street collapsed with a roar this afternoon leaving a dangerous wreck threatening nearby homes. Mrs Emaline Wright, owner, previously settled damages with the city for 150, and Mr S R Atwell faces a pending suit over damages for next door. Nearby resident Mrs Haymaker narrowly escaped harm as heavy stones and rubble disrupted the alley and street.

Aged Colored Man Ancele Henry James Dies at Home
Ancele Henry James, an elderly Black man, died yesterday afternoon at 3 on South Washington Street. He was believed to be about 80. The funeral is set for tomorrow at 9 AM at the Baptist Church colored, Rev. Carter officiating, with burial at Stone Bridge in Clarke County.

Descendant of Winchester's oldest families Col. Philip Williams Avirett dies in Cumberland Maryland from malignant typhoid fever. He fell ill after returning from Laurel where he worked as director and consulting attorney for the Springer Sanitarium Company. Born in Winchester in 1867 he devoted himself to books and early journalism with the Times office.
