A large crowd of farmers fills the streets on court day as news spreads that the American Tobacco Company bought the Louisville tobacco pool. Clark county plans rapid, equal distribution of about 550000 dollars from 3400 hogsheads, with sales to occur Tuesday morning in this city.
The jury pool for the upcoming special term starting November 30 includes jurors to hear cases such as Sam Berryman v. L N Railroad Ford Lumber Co v L N Railroad and D S Bowden v L N Railroad. Motions for new trials in Adelide Stevenson v Tanner and a major Bowden injury suit are also on the docket. Grand jurors for the December 7 term have been selected.

Light showers helped wheat and rye in Sharpsburg Kentucky though bluegrass too late for rain to help. Corn sells from 3 to 3.50 a bushel with some shocks yielding six bushels. Fodder is good at 25 to 35 cents per shock. Many turkeys are being shipped to Eastern markets for Thanksgiving, with prices up to 12 1/2 and 13 cents.
Hon John W Langley travels through Sandy Valley Frankfort Winchester and Jackson to touch every part of his district before the December session. Taft carried the district by 1800 and Langley won by over 3200 with a Martin County precinct voting eight Democrats in a show of support.
The First Baptist Church revival crowds fill the church across three services led by Dr Porter of Lexington. About 700 men attended the 3 o'clock service and 50 additions to the church are reported so far with baptisms planned after the series ends. Services continue Monday at 7:30 p.m.
Mr Forest Shouse of the county fell into a vat of sheep dip on Saturday. the platform gave way as he stood over the vat. He was seriously burned from the waist down. Dr M S Browne attends and reports his condition as very serious.
German and Italian students at Vienna University clashed in a street riot on November 23. Revolvers were used on both sides and several people were seriously wounded. Police dispersed the rioters with swords after a demonstration for the Italian University at Trieste.
Democratic precinct committeemen met at the court house to elect a county committee chairman. John M. Stevenson was chosen to succeed Lee S. Baldwin, with L. B. Cockerel re-elected secretary. Baldwin cannot serve again as he seeks sheriff. A resolution urged Woodson McCord to join the State Board of Control of the Charity Institution, to be sent to the Governor. A prior plan to hold the county primary in August remains under discussion with possible May or June postponement.
Savannah officials warn foreign drivers to curb reckless speed as overcast with visitors fills the city. The light car race runs 205.8 miles in 21 laps, about 4.5 hours, starting 11 a.m. Tuesday. the Savannah Cup grand prize covers 401.08 miles over 16 laps, finishing around 3 p.m. Thanksgiving day. Riders include Nazarro and past Vanderbilt winners Emery and Wagner among 5 French 6 Italian 3 German and 6 American cars.
A Vienna dispatch reports Servians crossing the Bosnian frontier near Zvornik were repulsed by Austrian forces. Serbian losses were 17 killed while Austrian casualties totaled three.
Taft's Hot Springs cottage drew numerous visitors on November 23 as discussions spanned Philippine tariff matters, Cuba visits, and the tariff revision. Delegations from Havana and Manila, plus U S lawmakers Crumpacker Lovering and Burton, pressed for policy guidance and continued ways and means hearings. John Barrett and others urged closer American links with Central and South American republics.
In Dubois county Indiana a trio of schoolboys started a leaf fire near Kyana public schools that spread across hundreds of acres of timber. Farmers battle flames as southern Indiana endures a 174 day drought described as the worst in local memory.
Francis Harbrecht aged 16 committed suicide by hanging in his bathroom at home in Sandusky Ohio. No motive is known and authorities report the death as self-inflicted.
