The angoumois grain moth is infesting wheat across northern Virginia West Virginia Maryland and Pennsylvania causing substantial losses to farmers and millers. A recommended control uses carbon bisulphide gas in a closed space for 24 to 36 hours with strict fire precautions.
Joseph Henry Hensell aged 73 died Saturday in Martinsburg City Hospital after Brights disease. Interment followed at Mount Carmel Cemetery Middletown. He worked forty years with the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad and later lived in Havre de Grace Maryland. Survived by son Frank Hensell Berkeley West Virginia four daughters Mrs Heater Pittsburgh Mrs Hare Keyser Mrs Brown Texas Mrs Abendschien Havre de Grace sisters Mrs Lily Willey Mrs Emma Crisman Middletown brother Albert Hensell Mercer County.
United States Senator Thomas E. Watson of Georgia died suddenly at his Washington home at 3 a.m. He was 66 and survived by a widow and two grandchildren. Watson, a fiery partisan figure and author of The Story of France, faced an obscenity indictment in 1914 and was acquitted after stormy trials. His death follows an acute asthma attack after dinner. He will be taken to Thomson, Georgia for burial after reservations on a train to his home.
The dispute over the Georges Carpentier Battling Siki finish continues as Deschamps seeks reversal of the decision that gave the title to Siki. Observers note Carpentier was tripped, while Deschamps aims for another staged bout. Funeral services for Joseph A. Massie prominent lawyer and banker of Newport News Va were conducted at Mount Hebron Cemetery with Rev Robert B Nelson officiating. Widowed Eliza beth Love Massie and many relatives attended from Winchester and Martinsburg along with former Senator Charles James Faulkner and Commander Richard Evelyn Byrd Jr. among others. Massie 61 died Sunday at his home and was born in Rappahannock County Virginia.
Dr W Warren Sager and his bride Louise Harmer arrived for a visit with relatives and friends. They are guests of Mrs Sager's parents Mr and Mrs Stanley E Harmer on West Cork Street. The Sag ers will return to Washington early next week where he serves on the surgical staff at Emergency Hospital. They will reside at 1414 Girard Street NW Huron Apartments.
Mrs Nellie Dean Baker brings an action for divorce against James O Baker in the Corporation Court. A memorandum filed in the clerk's office requests service on the defendant with returnable October rules. The complainant's bill will be filed later. Represented by R Gray Williams.
Mr and Mrs A J Berres of Washington returned home after a weekend visit with Mr and Mrs Harry Stouffer. Mr Berres worked with the United States Shipping Board in World War I and now serves in the metal trades department of the American Federation of Labor.

Walton Moore of Virginia has introduced a bill to have election contest cases heard and reviewed by the U S Circuit Court of Appeals, removing partisan influence from the House. He cites historical support and defense of judges against allegations of corrupt practices in the Virginia election, urging reform to curb partisan actions.
