Dynamite Wrecks County Traction Engine Near Winchester
A 3600 dollar traction engine used by Frederick County road authorities was blown up by dynamite on Parkins Mill Road southeast of Winchester near Front Royal Pike. The engine, idle for weeks, was wrecked beyond repair with parts scattered along the road. Sheriff Pannett and Deputy Wigginson found no clues to the perpetrators amid suspicions of opposing scrap-road work efforts. The engine belonged to D. M.
