Escapee Nabbed By Police Here
James Arthur Hanna age 19, an escapee from a Road Camp in Moundsville West Virginia, was arrested by Patrolmen Messall and Claycomb at 1 30 this morning after entering the Orn dorff Store on Millwood Avenue by breaking a rear pane and window latch. He rifled a money box but caused little damage before officers caught him. Hanna previously escaped from the Boys Industrial School Prunetown West Virginia in 1948 and faced seven counts of breaking and entering and one entering attempt.

Navy plane crash kills 26 near Kwajalein lagoon
A four engine Navy R-5-D transport crashed into Pacific waters after departing Kwajalein Field Hawaii bound for the Seoul airlift. Twenty six crew and passengers perished as bodies were searched and recovered. survivors were not expected.
