Bread Truck Driver Injured In Maurertown Accident

Julian Rogers of Winchester, driver for Lee Baking Company, skidded into a stone wall in front of Carson Spiker’s Maurertown residence while en route from the Shenandoah County Fair to Winchester. By-Product Plant Worker Burned At Apple Butter Plant

A clogged apple butter worm at the National Fruit Products Company plant caused sauce to spray onto Woodrow Carlisle, burning his arms and leg. He was taken to Memorial Hospital for treatment, with hospital reports later saying injuries were not serious. The incident forced a temporary plant shutdown to install a new worm and led to dismissal of all employees for a day’s pay.

Good road being built in Clarke County
