Senate approves revenue sharing bill despite misgivings
The Senate approved a $33.6 billion revenue sharing plan 63 to 20 after a 12 hour session sending the measure to conference with the House. It would retroactively fund state and local governments with one third to states and two thirds to cities and other units, though education and welfare use restrictions were dropped in the Senate version.
