Manassas Man Charged With Attempted Murder
A rural Manassas man William W. Schaffer aged 23 was charged with attempted murder after a shooting spree. He held members of his own family and two neighboring families at gunpoint at various homes. Police said he threatened a neighbor’s family and fired at a residence missing anyone. He was arrested at his father’s home and jailed in lieu of a $5 000 bond. Police found 500 rounds of ammunition and a misfired shell in the weapon.
