The Service Swimming Club updates its winter program with Edna Bightey teaching a Friday afternoon class for small girls from 3 30 to 5 00 and Mrs. Andrew Bell returning for a Friday night class at the American Legion pool 7 30 to 9 30. Pool hours shift to 5 00 closing, 5 15 gym use for volleyball. A beauty pageant and swimming meet are planned for November 19 at 8 p m with Y M C A Martinsburg and local merchants sponsoring prizes. Committees named for entries prizes and publicity with local men as judges.

In San Francisco the St. Peter and St. Paul Catholic Church was bombed for the third time in about two years. A dynamite blast damaged the doorway and stained glass as mass was set to begin. Father Di Martini slept nearby and was unharmed. The blast loosened a granite stairway and shook nearby homes. police had guarded the church following prior explosions. Four fragments were recovered and an automobile was noted near the site before the blast. Regular early mass resumed after the incident.

Death of John Wilkinson, Colored Man, Still Unclear
The body of John Wilkinson, about 48, found dead in Atlantic City remains unexplained. Identification was sought via a Virginia Clothing Co label. relatives in Winchester were notified and the body to be shipped for burial. Wilkinson had traveled from Winchester with Harry Green and previously worked as a houseman and bellman at prominent homes and hotels. Puffinberger Confesses To Attack On 18-Year-Old Hovermale
