Seven year old Catherine Louise Evans, daughter of Mr and Mrs Elmer Evans of Ridings Chapel east of Stephens City, died Sunday morning at 7:30 from scarlet fever. The death was confirmed today and the body interred Monday in Ridings Chapel United Brethren Church Cemetery. Memorial services will be held later after quarantine. Another Evans child is recovering. The disease prompted school closures, including High View, and Dr. Anderson reports several mild scarlet fever cases in Frederick County. Dora Miller of Raceburg is seriously ill with diphtheria.
