Target Restrictions Seen Behind Air Losses in Vietnam War
Retired Maj. Gen. Gilbert E. Myers testifies to a Senate preparedness subcommittee that Washington imposed tight target restrictions in the air war over North Vietnam, causing greater pilot and aircraft losses. He says more lucrative targets were blocked and only one to three targets were released at a time. Other generals echo debates on bombing strategy and effectiveness.
