A Vietnamese military court acquitted 20 defendants on treason charges tied to last month’s coup attempt against Premier Nguyen Khanh. The judge cited insufficient evidence as Khanh’s influence grows in a government set to include a strong military role.
Robert K. Stickley of Stephens City was reelected as chairman of the Frederick County Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Committee for the coming year Elmer M Venskoske Gainesboro and Frank H Brumback Rt 4 were reelected respectively as vice chairman and regular member Stickley operates a 657 acre farm and has served as chairman since 1959 Venskoske has a 224 acre farm Brumback and his brothers run a 1335 acre fruit and beef cattle farm All three will take office Nov 1 for one year.
