Two Guilty In Local Liquor Cases In Frederick Court
In Frederick County Circuit Court Hunter Nelson aged 22 was found guilty of manufacturing liquor and of shooting Dwight Funkhouser with a revolver. James K Maddux Dies Sudden at Age 77 in Warrenton
Noted horseman James K. Maddux died suddenly at his Warrenton home from an acute heart attack. He leaves a daughter Winifred and several nieces and a nephew. Maddux, born July 1853 in Marshall, built a lifetime career riding and judging horses and helped spearhead the Virginia Gold Cup races.
