Four Injured in Auto Mishap Near Waynesboro West Virginia
Four persons were injured in a Sunday morning crash near Waynesboro West Virginia when a car owned by Mrs Lillian Allamong of Waynesboro Virginia went off the highway. Injured were Mrs Holmes Patton and her husband, Miss Katherine Coontz of 1009 South Kent Street, and Mrs Allamong. All were taken to Charles Town General Hospital. Mrs Patton suffered a forehead cut back injury and bruises. Mr Patton had abrasions cuts and bruises. Miss Coontz had a cut knee and body bruises. Mrs Allamong was believed to have a fractured pelvis and chin cut. Patton residence indicates the couple will be brought home today.

Miners Entombed 65 Hours Rescued in Pa Shaft
In Mahanoy City Pennsylvania two coal miners William Burke 28 of Robinsons and William Goodman 60 of Mahanoy City were brought to the surface after 65 hours trapped by a cave in at the bottom of a 90 foot shaft. They showed shock and exposure but were otherwise in good condition and were taken to a hospital. Relays of 150 miners worked since Friday to reach them. Faint tapping 24 hours after the disaster indicated life. A four foot square shaft was sunk through 32 feet of coal to reach them and rescue continued with supplies and encouragement.
