Apple Harvest Estimates Fall Behind Last Year in Many States
The report shows a drop in apple output with overall barrels down from 39,411,000 last year to 24,330,000 this year. New York alone is seen at 3,073,000 barrels versus 6,500,000 a year ago, while Washington and Oregon total 8,112,000, two million less than 1926. Only Idaho, Nebraska, Kansas and Vermont project higher yields than last year.

Demand Declines at Liverpool Apples Auction
Demand opened strong in Liverpool but waned by day’s end with apples selling only moderately. Cargoes from La Conia and Adriatic totaled 22 000 barrels and 13 000 boxes, mostly in good condition. Prices ranged for Yorks 6.48 to 9.12, Ben Davis 6.48 to 7.92, Jonathans 8.64 to 9.60. London and Manchester notes added.
