A Jacobs Creek bridge in Westmoreland county was blown up by dynamite in a strike zone. Pickets closed mines that had reopened after Roosevelt's plea. Earlier a coal tipple burned and an attempted wrecking of a train carrying fuel from West Virginia to Pittsburgh ines was unsuccessful.

Final Rites Held For Rev Edwin S Hinks Clergyman
Clergymen led by Bishop Frederick Goodwin attended the final rites for Rev Edwin S Hinks 75 at Christ Church Virginia. Interment followed at Ivy Hill Cemetery with pallbearers from Casanova Upperville and Winchester and relatives from Baltimore.
