Mrs. Abner Johnson, chairman of the Nurses Aide committee of Winchester Frederick Red Cross, announced that volunteers may apply for an evening class. The class will meet five evenings weekly at the Nurses Home from 5 30 to 9 30 p m, with day training combined and taught by Mrs Wayne Capper. Applications must be in by Thursday and accepted volunteers will be notified by telephone.
Shipbuilder Henry J. Kaiser completes a tank landing vessel in 61 days after yard start. With no lumber or cranes available, workers dug a concrete-lined hole, used sleds to assemble, and fabricating three 150 ton cranes from scrap steel. The craft was pre fabricated statewide and assembled in Richmond.

Eva the circus elephant was in a Hoffmann Circus truck involved in a collision with a car driven by Oliver DeHaven of Albin at Braddock and Gerrard streets last evening about 8 30. The car was damaged slightly. the elephant and truck were unharmed. Investigating officers reported this was the second accident at the intersection in two days.
