Pirates Trotted Out For Practice On Eve Of World Series
The Pittsburgh Pirates held a long practice at Forbes Field as they prepare for a world series clash with the New York Yankees tomorrow. Paul Waner homered to the fight field stands while fans roared. Yankees observers watched as Hill Yde and coach Jewell Ems fed them in batting practice. Meanwhile scalpers thronged downtown selling World Series tickets above face value, drawing city officials and Barney Dreyfuss into calls for enforcement of the ordinance and license-backed sales.
